Goldfish tank : Aquarium or Water pot ?

Maybe you are wondering why some people keep their Fancy goldfish in pond or water pot. Would it be better if they keep it in goldfish aquariums? Choosing goldfish tank is highly depend on what type of goldfish that you had or will have. You can fully enjoy the beauty of your goldfish by chosing the right goldfish tank.

There are two types of Goldfish : Top-view goldfish and Side-view goldfish.

This type of goldfish looks beautiful for side-viewing. Although the criteria for each goldfish strain can be different, basically side-view goldfish should have shorter & more rounded body and narrower & shorter tail fin. For example : Ranchu side-view's head proportion should be 1/3 of the length of the body, with bended back that makes it's body looks shorter & rounded. Goldfish Aquariums is the best place to show their beauty.

This type of goldfish looks beautiful for top-viewing, usually they are kept in pond or patio pond/ big water pot. Good top-view goldfish should have tail fin like butterfly unfurls it's wings, rectangular body (viewed from the top), big head and horizontally swim style. The water level shouldn't exceed 25 cm deep, especially for broad-tail types. Deeper water will affect its swim style and too fast or strong current will damage the fin and the body shape.
